Comparison of API 50 CH strips to whole-chromosomal DNA probes for identification of Lactobacillus species.
The API 50 CH identification system was evaluated for the identification of 97 strains of commensal lactobacilli. This system agreed with the species-level identifications for none of the 7 reference strains and only 4 of 90 vaginal isolates identified using whole-chromosomal DNA probes.
متن کاملCarbohydrate fermentation plate medium for confirmation of Neisseria species.
A carbohydrate fermentation plate medium is described for rapid and reliable confirmation of Neisseria gonorrhoeae, N. meningitidis, and other Neisseria species. The medium is based on a modification of NYC (U.S. Patent 3,846,241) medium, originally designed for the isolation of pathogenic Neisseria (3). A total of 715 clinical isolates were tested for their carbohydrate fermentation reactions ...
متن کاملRapid carbohydrate fermentation test for confirmation of the pathogenic Neisseria using a Ba(OH)2 indicator.
The Ba(OH)2 indicator system was demonstrated to be a practical procedure in assisting clinical bacteriologists in the accurate and rapid identification of the pathogenic Neisseria from clinical specimens. This system measured the release of CO2, resulting from the metabolism of fermentable carbohydrate, as the precipitated BaCO3, by means of a spectrophotometer, The method was uncomplicated an...
متن کاملPrevalence and Identification of Lactobacillus Species Isolated from Infected Root Canals by MALDI-TOF Mass Spectrometry, 16S rRNA Gene Sequencing and API 50 CHL
Lactobacillus, a part of the commensal oral microflora, is frequently found in infected root canals but is not considered to be an endodontic pathogen. Lactobacilli have proven to be difficult to identify on species level with biochemical and gene sequencing methods. MALDI-TOF is a new identification method and to our knowledge it has not been used on lactobacilli from infected root canals. The...
متن کاملassessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea
data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...
